Tea Review: Typhoo
I recently heard Typhoo tea mentioned in a YouTube video, so I was a little curious. As I’m writing now, I received it in the mail a few hours ago, and I just finished a cup. One problem I’ve started to have is that the teas are starting to taste mostly the same. I’ve been wanting something that’s distinct from the others I’ve tried, and Typhoo tea is different. I got the smallest box I could find which had 80 tea bags. You can get larger boxes. There is a decaf version if you prefer that. There is also a Typhoo Gold tea, which I might try later at some point.
My setup is as follows:
1 Typhoo teabag
20 oz Yeti tumbler
Approximately 14 fl oz of water
Milk and coconut sugar to taste
Small pinch of salt
Tea was steeped for 2.5 minutes
When I first took a sip, there was a flavor that seemed familiar, but I couldn’t identify it at first. Then I realized that it tasted to some extent like green tea. I was expecting a darker flavor, so it was a nice surprise. There was a dark smooth flavor with a bright grassy flavor that pops out. I often feel somewhat jittery after drinking black tea, but I didn’t feel that with this one. That might be a fluke, but I’m not sure.
Overall, I like this unique tea. I don’t particularly like the green tea taste, but it’s a tea I would drink every once in a while. I believe I will order it again.
